Brisbane Roar stay alive in A-League with win over Perth Glory

From ESPN - April 14, 2018

Brisbane Roar shook off a howler from goalkeeper Jamie Young to keep their A-League finals hopes alive, at least for another day, with a 3-2 win over Perth Glory at nib Stadium.

Roar and Glory were battling to stay in the fight for the sixth and last finals position and hoping the Western Sydney Wanderers slip up Sunday against Adelaide United.

Glory got the perfect start with an Adam Taggart goal in the 24th minute after a disastrous decision by Young to come out and not get near a long ball.

Substitute Henrique scored in either half to spark Roar, though. Thomas Kristensen scored when all alone in the box in the 41st minute in between his brace.

Young then had a moment of redemption saving a Diego Castro penalty in the 80th minute. Glory did get a late goal to make it interesting, when it took a deflection off Brisbane's Jacob Pepper in the 86th minute.

Brisbane will finish sixth and play finals unless Western Sydney beat Adelaide. A draw or loss by the Wanderers and Roar will make it.

Glory finish eighth with 10 wins, two draws and 15 losses.
