Jurgen Klopp feels his Liverpool side could beat Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

PSG face Real Madrid on Wednesday night as one of the tournament favourites, while Klopp's Liverpool are at Porto for the round-of-16 first leg.

Although Klopp insists he and his players are not looking beyond their Portuguese opposition, the Reds boss says the 4-3 victory over Manchester City on Jan. 14 shows they can beat Europe's best.

"Probably the strongest team in Europe at the minute is Manchester City. We have played them twice and that's highest level," Klopp said.

"PSG is a little bit different but I do not look at them, I only know it already that if we meet them we could beat them. That's how it is but it's not important. We are here in Porto and that's the only thing that matters.

"Usually last 16 does not sound too good in a lot of competitions but in the Champions League it's quite a message already.

"There are so many good football teams around who want to be in the competition still and we are in it so that's cool.
