Jaguars defense on track to out-perform 1985 Bears, 2000 Ravens

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Everybody knows by now that the Jacksonville Jaguars' defense is really good.

It's No. 1 in scoring, total defense, pass defense, sacks, and takeaways. They are also third in interceptions. So it's really, really good. Best in the NFL.

But digging deeper reveals that it has a chance to be historically good, too.

If the Jaguars finish the season atop the NFL in scoring defense, total defense, takeaways and sacks, they will become the first team to accomplish that in the Super Bowl era (1966), per Elias Sports Bureau.
