HONG KONG -- Liverpool's preparation for the Premier League Asia Trophy have been affected by the torrential rain in Hong Kong, but the league are confident that the weather wo not disrupt the preseason tournament.

Liverpool were due to train at the Mong Kok Stadium at 10 p.m. local time on Monday, but were forced indoors due to the heavy rain, which was present for the majority day.

The Merseyside club are scheduled to play Crystal Palace on Wednesday at the Hong Kong Stadium and then either West Bromwich Albion or Leicester City at the same ground on Saturday.

And the Premier League is confident that the four friendly encounters will be able to go ahead, despite the rainy weather forecasts given for the rest of the week.

A spokesperson said: "We have inspected the surface daily for the last week and are confident in the pitch. The stadium operators have invested significantly in a new surface and drainage system that is of a good standard."

Liverpool will train at the Hong Kong Stadium for the first time on Tuesday afternoon in an open session.
